Feeding a baby gator too many BLACK crickets is what could kill it. The hard shells of the black crickets are harder for them to digest and blocks up their gut. I feed the brown crickets from a pet store and haven't had any problems. As far as dwarfing the gator goes, I personally wouldn't recommend it. Dwarfing an animal by not feeding it enough almost always compromises its heatlh and lifespan.
