NEPAL NEWS (Kathmandu) 31 March 03 Crown Prince to release gharials
Crown Prince Paras, who is a keen conservationist and the Chairman of the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation will release six baby gharials in the Narayani River Monday.
The gharials were bred and reared at the Crocodile Breeding Center in the Royal Chitwan National Park and will be released from Amalgari of Nawalparasi district. The crocodile breeding center was established in 2035 BS to protect and multiply the number of gharials, enlisted as an endangered species. The center rears and releases them in different rivers.
