Sounds like stress. Exspecialy having people always looking in on him. Moving him to your room was probally a good idea but now you may have to wait a few weeks for him to eat if he is even going too. You said he looked skinny, like how skinny? Bony skinny? Is the tail nice and thick????? Try leaving a thawed mouse in there before everyone goes to bed.
