Jenny,

You can't say that "a crocodile has X teeth" because each species has a different number! You need to find out a) which species has the least number of teeth, b) which species has the most teeth (hint, it has a long snout!) and c) what the average number of teeth is. Finding the answers is simple: just go to http://crocodilian.com and click on the Crocodilian Species List, and then click through all the crocodile species (it won't take long). Under "Appearance" you'll find a simple formula for the total number of teeth that species has. Getting an A+ has never been easier!

Caimankid hit the nail on the head with the nictitating membrane.

All water is full of bacteria, unless you've just distilled it. But crocs are tough creatures with powerful immune systems that can deal with the bacteria found in the natural environment. In captivity, of course you must keep the water clean to ensure crocs stay in top condition. Crocodiles must have access to warm water - they prefer body temperatures around 28 to 34 celsius depending on the species and their behavior.

If you want to research the way people keep crocs in captivity further, visit http://crocodilian.com/crocfaq

:*Hello Crocodilian Forum*
:Im the kid who doesnt have a crocodile. I am very interested to know their needs and some vocabulary for my school research. I got a question that my teacher had me assigned. What is it called that crocodile can see under water? Is it "lid or goggle"?
:I am wondering how many crocodile's teeth are?
:Do you guys keep crocodiles? what do you keep them in? Do you heat the water? Will it cause bactria in water when you heat? I read a book from the library and the book said that water will devolop bactria from heat. I hope that anyone here will help because my teacher said that if i got the information and she will give me A+ on my grade. *Jenny*
