:hy jenny, ISOs are integumentary sense organs found on crocodilians, help sense surroundings i think, you should ask Adam Britton, he's the expert.

No need - you got it down pretty well yourself. The only thing to add is their location: there's an ISO on nearly every scale of the body in crocodiles. They look like small, dark spots.
