Not if you clean the mess often, it wont be foul smelling. Mostly the Filter will do the trick. You will only need to replace the filter when it get dirter. I use 60% listerine antibacterial mouthwash in my water spray bottle and clean the tub then wash it off. It works pretty good.. However it may be a lot of work on cleaning the tub it all depends on the size of the tub.
