So far ive cought two garters this year. I kept the first one for a while, and it would only eat worms. i tried goldfish and a fuzzy scented with worm, and deven a diced fuzzy mixed with worm. Then, i cought the second one a few days ago. i released the first one, as the new one was extremely docile and i had limited space. this new one did no bite, even when i first picked it up. It was actively trying to slither away from me, but did not attack or even musk. It had a smaller head compared to the body size than the other snake, although both are definitely eastern garters. This one is also much more constrictor-like in its habits. When i pick it up, it coils itself tightly around my fingers, and will slither around for a while, but will soon calm down and explore very slowly and calmy while keeping its tail almost constantly wrapped around a finger or two. Also, its plack spots along its side continue as thin threads of black going across its belly. I really love this snake, ive never seen an eastern that acts quite like it. This snake, too, refuses to eat fish, but will take worms. sorry for taking so long. Any hints or responses are very much appreciated.
