well, i had a pretty good herping day today, except for this. it broke my heart. i went out early this afternoon and was looking around in an old lot above where i live(Bedford County, Virginia)and found the first Eastern Milk snake i've ever caught in my life! i was so pumped up that i jumped in my car and ran to tell my girlfriend. then i saw the Garter writhing in the road. someone had just hit it. i stopped and grabbed it hoping maybe i could save its life, but it was no use. this really hurts.
