I started out my collection of snakes with a WC garter snake that I kept for about a half year. I aquired 7 babies from a pet store not too long after that. Now I have expanded to a baby ball python and came upon a problem that I have never encountered with my garters. The python doesn't like to eat! They are nutorious for not eating for no reason really. I have never once had a garter snake refuse food made available infront of it's mouth, uless it was so stuffed nothing else would fit. Even that didn't always stop their greedy little jaws. Garters are definately better eaters than ball pythons... Just thought I'd offer my thoughts.
