Could some of you, that have succesfully bred garters, give me an idea of when you put your garters down and when you bring them out of Brumation? I am interested in garters from agricultural zone 6. I have been putting my animals down about Dec 15 and bringing them out March 1.. Anybody think that this is a little late for PA locale garters?

I don't want to jump the gun but I have seen garter snake activity on warm days in February around here......can't imagine that they do any serious breeding untill about the middle to end of March though. They usually have to be active long enough to get through a shed before they breed. Wadayatink?
