This wasn't a little frost they were froze solid. I did leave them in their container in a warmer spot afterwards just in case. I was pretty certain they were dead last night because they had frozen to the point where their eyes were damaged. They were thawed and dead this morning.

:during winter months when garters mass together in caverns they will ice over and when thawed become active again. just a suggestion.
