Like people selling "cute" baby burmese pythons to unsuspecting teenagers. Or white-lipped pythons, "because they're pretty" (white-lipped's are notoriously mean).

You did the right thing, giving your ribbon away. I'm in no way saying you were taking bad care of it, but if you thought she could be better off elsewhere, then giving her away was the best thing to do. Besides, that's the fun of reptiles. Every cage that empties is a cage that could be filled again!

I think the whole reptile-owning experience is best when you have a more experienced friend to look to. When I need something done that I can't do, I have friends to ask, likewise for people that come ask me.

Herp societies are good for that. Except those that just charge too much money to go to monthly seminars on the mating habits of monitor lizards or something.
