Garters are known to bred in the fall before brumation

No. They do breed in the fall and then the females brumate and then possibly remate in the spring. You can brumate her for a while if you want a break from cleaning the cage. I would make sure she has access to another male when she comes out of brumation just to make sure.

Sounds like she has a sperm plug in her vent. It should be whitish and will stay a day or more.

:Would it be too odd to have a couple of Easterns already mating?
:They were at it just yesterday. Today there's a visible bulge at the female's opening...

:I was planning to cool them in a couple of weeks. Should I still cool them? Thoughts?
