The problem with natural sunlight is that ultraviolet light can damage the exposed embryos. Ultraviolet light has been found to increase the likeliness of infection by pathogenic fungi.
The eggs or tadpoles do not need light to develop, but yes, heat does make them develop faster. Do not go overboard with this, I am talking about the difference between 70 degrees and 75 degrees not 75 degrees and 90 degrees.
