Dwarf African Frog - Newbie with Lots of Questions

Hi! New here and about to "adopt" 2 or 3 DAFs tomorrow from my daughter's classroom. I've been researching and asking questions, and I'm getting conflicting info on set-ups. First, let me say that the frogs will NOT be housed with any other critters. Second, let me add that I'm an experienced fishkeeper (freshwater) and have an aquatic turtle, so I'm not new to aquatic pets.

NOW, here are the 2 options I have:
- a 1/5 gallon hex with an underground filter
- a 2 gallon rectangular tank

Also, I've heard to fill the tank up with an inch of air at the top, OR fill only 3 inches with water, OR make a split land/water habitat.

Finally, I've been told to use gravel, OR sand, OR river rocks.

*Argh!* Can anyone sort this all out for me so that these little guys arrive to a nice new home?

Thanks for your help!!
