::I heard that lettuces are low in nutrients. People who fed largely lettuce to their tortoises and reptiles, such as iquanas and bearded dragon, that eat plants often get a sick and malnurished animals.
This is totally false for most lettuce, as you are referring to iceberg lettuce, which is mostly water and cellulose. Dark green leafy lettuces are very nutritious and are an absolute necessity for herbivorous reptiles.
