I know some dogs & cats can have been raised from birth with nothing but loving kindness, but if you judge by their behavior, you'd think they'd been beaten & abused because they're so skittish & spooky. & then you come across the dogs & cats who have been mistreated terribly, but they've got nothing but hopeful tail-wags & purrs for people, even if they're near-death sick. So I've figured it's maybe something born into creatures that give them this tendency to either anxiety or ease...& whatever it is, brain chemistry, maybe a seritonin thing...frogs have it too, I guess!
:Well I found out bullfrogs, like people, have personalities. One of my bullfrogs, raised since very very tiny now large, is skittish. Will not be handfed, and does not eat unless nobody is around.
:I recently purchased another bullfrog-which was wild captured-being housed in its own home, is very tame, loves to be handfed, and does not even mind being picked up! He is healthy as a horse too. I had to get him fattened up, which is rapidly occurring. But he will take food from my hand dead or alive!
:I thought this really odd--a baby handraised to be an adult is quite skittish, now this one-wild captured and....friendly. very odd.
:I think both are cute as a button!
