A lot of froglets have the habit of burying themselves, maybe as protection from predators? The green frogs I raised did that, but stopped after awhile and began spending most of their time in a hollow log over a few inches of water in their tank. Leopard frogs usually either bury themselves as defense, or to seek relief from extreme temperatures.
