i have only had my crickets smell once. i normally buy 2 dozen crickets a week and keep them in a critter keeper. i put carrots or what ever veggie/fruit in there the water supplement in gell form.

i have never smelled them except for once when i tried to house 4 dozen crickets to last for 2 weeks. and of course i wash the cage out every week with steaming water.
