Sometimes they fill themselves up with air, and "huff and puff" when disturbed. this could then be followed by an attempt to bite the offender. i guess they do it as a defensive mechanism. but if your frog appears bloated even if he ain't being rattled, he could be being overfed :) I found that nightcrawlers tend to give a frog an "overstuffed" appearance shortly after bein eaten, and also they appear stuffed before they "crap." all this ruling out a health problem , if he remains extremely bloated and youre not overfeeding, i would take him to a vet.
