Odd FBT question - with picture link

:yeserday i put a hydrometer in my tank and it has a picture of a RETF on it. And my smallest FBT just stares at it a good bit. (see picture for a example) Is this normal for them? im not worried but its kinda weird he just sets there and stairs at it for long periods of time.
