the large gravel sold as river rock at pet stores is epoxy coated.crazy... a million times
if you boil it is comes off and melts everywhere
if its the epoxy coated stuff soak it insme antiseptic (not bleach) for aday
use rubbing alcohol, or iodine or ammonia. then rinse like crazy... a million times
.
if its really uncoated then boil it.
