I never found a problem giving a mouse diet while young. One pinkie will last one to two weeks.
Problem is when they get old-that is when they can get into trouble if you OVERFEED them. Same with a human. For an adult pacman if you give your frog a mouse, no more than ONE hopper every 3 weeks. Give it NO OTHER food until that 3 weeks has passed. but I would give a variety of foods afterwards (different bugs).
My geriatric pacman (about 9 years old) I prefer not to give it a mouse but a daily cricket.
