I would bet only a few months. that does not prove anything. and you should also get the gravel out of the tank too. you will find out at some point in the future that I am right about the water and the gravel. up to you if you want to solve the problem before your frogs prove my point by getting sick or dying. I am speaking from experience.
I'll let you know in a few years if my toads are healthy. But I've owned newts for years and years and used the filtration system I'm using now and they were VERY healthy. I think that changing the water every other day is overkill and it might even stress the frogs.
