It is definitely fine to just have one. In fact when people house in pairs they need to be very careful that the male does not breed the female too early or it can lead to serious health problems (even death). I raise all females separately from males and only house pairs when they are old enough to breed (at least 2 years old).

:I see alot of people here who have frilled pairs or are getting some frilleds in pairs. Is that necessary or is it just for breeding? It is ok to keep a single frilled right?
