Hey. I've read alot about how cool regal ringnecks are, and I figured I'd talk to some of the people here who know about them. They seem awesome! From what I've read, they are mainly snake-eaters, and are capable of taking out snakes even larger than themselves. Anyone have any pictures! Unfortunately,I cannot find them where I live, (NC). I have had one ringneck, a southern, and it took nightcrawlers and salamanders. I never had the opportunity to offer it a small snake, so I'm not sure if southerns are as inclined to eat other reptiles a regals are. I've been trying lately to get some ringnecks, and have been unseccessful in finding any. I have searched but have seen no regal ringnecks for sale. The herp show is coming to Raleigh on May 3rd and 4th, but I doubt I'll be able to find one there. Any suggestions on how to find a southern ringneck around here? I have done a lot of log flipping, but I'm not sure of their preffered habitat. One last question, do regal ringnecks constrict their prey? My southern would grab onto salamanders and wrap coils around them as he consumed it. I wasn't sure if it was just a method of keeping prey still, but it looked like actual constriction. I have read that ringnecks partially constrict their prey. Thanks,
-Mack
