There are several canoe places near Milton, a little north of Pensacola, on the Blackwater and it's tributaries. Blackwater River State Forest is full of herps, though it's illegal to remove them. Here's a link to one of the better canoe places. I think they may have a place on the Perdido river as well, west of P-cola, at least they used to, and it was less crowded than the ones in Milton.
