Today was in the low 80's here in NY. BUT, not much moving around this morning. The first herp I found was the Male Eastern Painted up on the railroad tracking trying to find a way out. I helped him on his way. I also found another Male up on the tracks as well. They both lived to see another day! :)
Next is a eastern ribbon snake. I seen about 20 of these beautiful FAST moving snakes.
The Spotted turtle!! This is what I was REALLY hoping to find. I was a perfect day warm, sun high and bright, but NOT to many out yet. I was able to find 5 spotteds. Here are a few pictures.I am sure in a few more weeks I will be posting alot of pictures of Long Island Spotted Turtles!!
I was out from 10AM to 11:30AM.I am sure if I had more time, I would have foung alot more. BUT, I had to go to work! :(
I will be posting more as the season goes along!!
