I thought the shortage was because of contaminated antivenin that couldn't be used. My dots must connect differently. I wonder how many of those emergency room doctors also use fasciotomy as a first line of treatment. I also didn't realize that the number of snakebites had grown to epidemic proportions, but then again, I also take what I see on the "local news" with a grain (ton) of salt.
:Last summer on my local news, they mentioned there was a statewide(Florida) shortage of serum. The emergency room doctors had a name for the epidemic of snakebites. They called it "Crocodile Hunter syndrome". Sure is not hard to connect the dots on that scenario.
