I have found a new herping spot. Its an old pig farm all the tin sheets from the roof have blown off so it perfect. Today I was hoping for a rosy boa or a San Diego Mountain king I was told they where seen in the area but the person I talked to also said people have seen western coral snake out here (San Diego Ca.) I don’t think that coral snakes are this far to the west...am I wrong? Today I found 6 gophers 1 rattler one striped cal king with a perfect full unbroken stripe and one night snake, I thought at first it was a glossy but under further examination I saw it had a split vet and vertical eyes. I was reading about them and that they a rear fanged and venomous. Are they any threat to people? I got a camera yesterday so I’ll try to post pics later. Also why are there so many gopher snakes? Is it from people collecting other snakes? Or are they just more common anyway?

Jake
