I spent this past weekend along the coast just north of San Francisco. It was quite warm with temperatures topping out in the upper 70's to near 80 degrees. I managed to turn up a few herps in the areas I searched. These aren't my best work as far as photos are concerned but I still wanted to share.
Thamnophis elegans terrestris
Note the ventral coloration
These Coast garters were out in numbers. Unfortunately, I did not find any other Thamnophis.
Pacific Slender Salamander-easily overlooked.
Habitat for the Garter Snakes
Southern Alligator Lizards. Many found under AC in the heat of the day.
