If you are in the Big Bend area almost anywhere outside the State Park is good for night driving. FM170 and Hwy. 118 is very good for lots of types of snakes and for geckos. North of Big Bend Hwy. 90 is good. If you do not live in TX you need the Non-Game Non-Resident 5 day Collecting Permit, I believe it is #57. You can get one at Wal-Mart. They were about $35 last year. If you're a TX resident I'm not sure which license it is but you can contact Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Is there any particular herp you were hoping to find?
