I would get Amphibians and Reptiles of Colorado the Second Edition, by Geoffrey Hammerson. It is one of the best field guides i have ever come across. Off the top of my head snakes in your area include Bullsnakes, Prairie Rattlesnake, Yellow-bellied Racer, Plains Garter Snake, Western terrestrial garter Snake, Red sided Garter Snake. Snakes that possibly live in the area or nearby are Hognose, milksnake, Northern Water snake and Plains Black-headed snake. Hope this helps, good luck
