Hi Bob,
Your findings should be interesting. Some believe that So. California populations of rosy boas have beed depleted to some extent by collecting, but roads and habitat loss and fragmentation obviously play a much greater role. It has also been said that Mtn. kingsnake populations in So. Cal. have also been affected by collecting and habitat disturbance due to collecting. See Stephenson and Calcarone (1999), Jennings and Hayes (1994), and Southwestern Herp Soc. special publication No. 4, 1998 (DeLisle, Brown, Kaufman, McGurty - eds.)
