If I am not mistaking the record for the Eastern Coral snake is 47 and a half in. so its not impossible.Josh,I am not sure where you are from but I know that the teachers taught us in pre-school how to identify a Coral from a Scarlet(just because kids like to pick up colorful things and playgrounds seem to turn up alot of Corals).Just about all Floridians know the rhyme "BLACK AND YELLOW KILL A FELLOW AND RED AND BLACK FRIEND OF JACK"so she might be right,and I believe someone else on this forum reported a 4FT. Coral in FL. it was a couple of months ago.
