help in locating snakes...live in socal I-10 San bernardino.

I live in san bernardino, ca...near the i-10..close to palm springs..close to the 330 and the mountains...what species of snakes are near me? where do I look? when should I begin looking? I love to take pics and video of all types, any help is appreciated.
