I dont know about Louisiana but I am in Kentucky and the temps at 6 this morn was about 28f,but it warmed up to about 65f anf I found two Northern Garters and a 3ft Black Ratsnake.And all three where under tarps and plywood.So I would say you have a decent chance while you are there.You may have to work at it though,they arnt quite out in the open yet.So I would rely on flipping.I hope this helps and good luck.
