I went to miami during XMas and herped the redlands. Not easy: I used to live there, but it has changed dramatically. There are plenty of herps but there are few spots to look. It is all fenced off, so herpers are generally forced to look for stuff right along the sides of the road. I also walked some canal which was more productive than I thought it would be. i'll post pix soon.
Flipping I found:
2 Corn snakes, including one that was in excess of 4 feet (Very large for that area.)
10 Brown snakes
5 Brown Anoles
1 Garter Snake, a blue beauty
1 Yellow Rat
2 FL Water Snakes
Walking the canal:
1 Yellow Rat Snake
1 Eastern Indigo, I didn't get a pic but it was Beautiful
1 Everglades Racer
1 Garter Snake
1 Peninsula Ribbon Snake
Lotsa Anoles
1 Brooks King
1 12 foot shed from a BURMESE PYTHON.
Next time I will walk canals more
