: I agree that you need about 5-6 females rats, perhaps more as some will be slow breeders and some may not breed at all. I had an albino female who was with the male fore 3 weeks and a month later did not produce. She was given to the snakes.
: I would start out with maybe 7-8 females to be safe, extras can be frozen. Also remember that after the mother has given birth you should give her some time before her next litter. As constantly having babies without rest will shorten her life. What size rats do you need? pinks?
