grasshoppers are great food for many animals ( i have several western box turtles which relish them)but they are notoriously full of parasites. I was never able to raise them long enough to get reproduction. (which seems silly as they reproduce so copiously in the wild) And i know of no way to clean them (like can be done for worms and fishes and snails) In my case it turned out to be okay to freeze or cook them as the turtles ate then dead as well as alive (though those cooked "can o' grasshoppers" by zoomed or flukers aren't very popular)If you wanted to feed them to a lizard or small snake for which movement was important i don't have any recomendations but i'd be very careful using live ones from the wild.
