dark spots on rats ears?

Hi,

I'm just about finished with my rat rack, I'll get pictures up as soon as I have access to a digital camera. I'm noticing that some of my rats have dark spots on there ears. Is there a chance that they've got some parasite or something? It is on about 4-5 of the adult rats, and they didn't use to have them.

Does this sound like something worth quarantining? I'm now in the process of expanding on my colonies (gotta fill this rack!) so I need to get some more rats anyhow, I suppose I'll need to pay attention to keeping them seperated in case this is serious.
