I clean every Monday, rain or shine. I have vairious size rubbermaids, most with 1.3 (One male, three females) in them, but the very large sterlite has 1.5 in it. Most of the mice tanks hold between 1.4 and 1.7. I use Rabbit pellets and Pine as the substrate and the rats don't tend to smell much, the mice smell no matter what substrate you use, or how often you clean!
