You may not be able to. Leave her alone. Don't watch her. Come back in 24 Hrs. I know this is hard and you feel like you aren't doing everything you can to help, BUT if they aren't safe with her now, then who is going to feed them later? Sometimes the very act of watching and checking and lifting up the lid and going back and checking again, freaks the mom's out. Sometimes, moms just have a hard time at first. She will either settle down or she won't. It IS out of your hands now.
