:Two weeks ago I got 2 females and a male. Does anyone know roughly how long it could be before they start to have babies and how many might they have?
Depends on how old they are and if they are too young or too old to be fertile. Too old and you are stuck but too young and they will mature and do fine. Once they breed and conceive gestation is 21 days. Often, when setting up new ones you wait a bit longer. But if mine are not producing in a month and a half I start over. That is mice.
With hamsters or, heaven forbid gerbils you just wait forever and just before you are willing to feed them all off they throw out a few pups.
