Whats a good camera? PLEASE RESPOND

A friend of mine took this pic. with her sisters camera which may be a minolta but I'm not sure. I would like to get a camera for myself that takes pics. this good and was wondering what all of you would recomend. I'm looking at a Canon Sure Shot 105 Zoom, And a Samsung Evoca 140S Power Zoom. I would really like some input on this, I asked about a Pentax on the herp photography forum but nobody responded. I would really be greatful for any comments from you guys/girls because you all have such great photos of your animals up and know more about this than I do.
