SIXTH ANNUAL TENNESSEE HERPETOLOGY CONFERENCE

Dates
October 12-14, 2000 (Thursday - Saturday)

Conference Objectives
To foster an understanding of the past, present, and future of
Tennessee herpetology and herpetofauna; to encourage communication
between persons researching and managing our amphibians and reptiles;
and to help identify needs and goals to benefit the conservation of
our herpetofauna and their habitats.

Who Should Attend
All persons interested in Tennessee herpetology and herpetofauna,
including academicians, students, resource managers and the general
public.

Registration
All registrants, including speakers, are assessed a $10.00
registration fee which will be collected at the door, to cover the
cost of the meeting. Registration fees for students and student
presenters are waived.

Lodging
The closest motel accommodations are at the Americana Inn, located at
the intersection of State Highway 45 and Highway 100 in Henderson,
Tennessee. The motel is eight miles from the conference site at
Chickasaw State Park. A special conference rate of $35.00 plus tax
per person ($45.00 plus tax for a double room; 2-4 persons per room)
has been arranged at the Americana Inn. Please mention that you will
be attending the Tennessee Herpetology Conference. Make your
reservations by calling (901) 989-0111.

A limited number of cabins may be available at Chickasaw State Park
(901) 989-5141 and camp sites are available there for those who would
like to rough it.


Auction
An auction will be held Thursday 7 - 9 p.m. at the Sagamore Lodge.
Please bring your herpetology related items (shirts, field guides,
posters, etc.) for donation to the event.

Field Trip
A Saturday field trip is planned. Details are TBA.

Oct. 13th: Paper/Discussion sessions, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Oct. 14th: Field trip, 9:00 a.m. - noon

Directions to Sagamore Lodge, Chickasaw State Park
Sagamore Lodge is located on the main grounds of Chickasaw State
Park. The park is eight miles west of Henderson, Tennessee on
Highway 100.
