Hey,
Off to Spain are you, I was on deployment there with the Seabees in 1999 and while there I found numerous rat snakes and colubers. You will most likely find the following:
Coluber Hippocrepes a.k.a. Horseshoe Snake
Elaphe Scalaris a.k.a. Ladder Rat Snake
to many geckos to name
I did find what I thought was a venomous snake but never identified it with my books. It look like a small viper so I left it alone.
I was in Rota so if you are going there email me and I will tell you some good spots on the base to herp.
