Elaphe longissima (Aesculapian snake)
Habitat: dry, sunny woods and among shrubby vegatation, rocky areas and often in ruins. Terrestrial but climbs well.May sometimes be seen basking.
hibernation: late june or begin july the female lays 5-8 eggs, which hadge in september. September is also the time that the adults get ready for hibernation. They emerge from hibernation in april or may.
