Alan, would you be able to use a space heater? Just incase you're unfamiliar with these, it's an electrical device. On the back of the unit there is a thermostat, set it at whatever temp. you want. Plug the device in and presto, it'll heat your room. However they are not that good at heating very large spaces, and would work better in a small room. Hope this helps!
