I'm the founder of Reptile Rope, Rescue & Boarding, in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, area. We handle lots of reptilian needs in the metroplex. We've recently been getting calls on caimans and alligators. We have a zoo that is working with us on our calls on alligators. However, we can't find anyone to take in the caimans.

We need people or groups who have their permits or whatever is needed in their county to keep these animals. Most these animals are found by law officials and the law officials want to make sure that an average joe doesn't end up with the animal. As a rescue and conservation organization, we are prepared to care for turtles to Boids. Crocodilians, however, are not on our list! If you are in the state of Texas, Oklahoma, Lousiana, or Arkansas, and have the paperwork needed in your area to care for these animals, please contact me directly at bonita@reptilerope.org. We typically do not ship, and we do not receive a regular donation or income. If you live further and are willing to pay for the expenses to have the animals moved to your location, then email me. We don't have specific animals in need at this time, but as we are getting calls we have noticed that we need to put a list together of people that can help us.

Most calls have been for Spectacled Caimans, however we have gotten calls for Dwarf Caimans. Also, a Boid breeder in Oklahoma has been selling Nile Crocs to many people in this area. Reptile Rope has not yet received calls, but a fellow rescue group in Oklahoma has already adopted two Nile's from locals who didn't realize what they were getting into.

Thanks,
Bonita
